What the shell holds
Revised 2 November 2026
The shell, in a sentence or two
Cedarlynxplay is built to know as little about you as possible. There are no accounts, no sign-up forms, no comment boxes, no analytics and no advertising trackers. You read the pages, and that is the end of it.
The few things that do touch your data are listed below, each with what happens and why.
Your saddlebag and cookie answer
When you press the heart on a game, the shortlist we call your saddlebag is saved in your own browser using localStorage. Your answer to the cookie notice is kept the same way. Neither is ever sent to us; it simply sits on your device so the site can remember it next time.
Clearing your browser data, or using a private window, removes both. You can empty the saddlebag yourself at any time from its page.
The typefaces we borrow
Our fonts are served by Google Fonts. To deliver the font files, Google receives your IP address and basic details about your browser, as it does for any site using the service. Google handles that information under its own privacy policy. We receive nothing from that exchange.
If you would rather Google did not receive those details, most browsers can block third-party fonts. The pages still work and stay readable; they simply fall back to the typefaces already installed on your device.
Letters you send us
If you email the desk at [email protected], we receive your address and whatever you choose to write. We keep that correspondence only for as long as we need it to reply and follow up on a correction, and we never add you to a mailing list or pass your letter to anyone else.
Once a conversation is finished and any correction has been published, we delete the thread from our inbox. If you want it gone sooner, say so in your reply and we will remove it straight away.
When you ride out to a game
Play buttons open the official site of each game in a new tab. Once you are there, the publisher collects and uses data under its own privacy policy, which we do not see or control. Read it before you create an account, especially if you plan to use the in-game chat.
What PIPEDA lets you ask of us
We handle personal information in line with the Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act, known as PIPEDA. You may ask what we hold about you, which in practice means any emails you have sent, ask us to correct it or ask us to delete it.
If you are unhappy with how we have dealt with a request, you have the right to complain to the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada.
Changes and how to reach us
If the way the site handles data ever changes, this page changes first, with a new revision date at the top. Questions about privacy go to the same inbox as everything else: [email protected], read by the editors themselves.
